Yoga: Day 2 Reflection

Back on the mat again! Before getting on the mat, I had run a bunch of errands and gotten some Christmas shopping done. It was past 9 PM by the time I was ready for yoga, and by that time, I was starting to feel sleepy.

BUT I PROMISED MYSELF. If I can’t keep a promise to myself, what am I even doing?

I started with Adriene’s Day 2 workout, of course. This one was definitely more challenging than the first. I still felt tight, still had audible cracks when I circled my neck. But after that one, I started to feel a little more connected to my body and in tune with myself. I finished my hour with Yoga for Bedtime, which was perfect. It was a nice meditative yoga, and exactly what I needed after a long and busy day.

Now, I may not do an hour every single day. I’ll definitely do my darndest to complete the day’s video, but the second video is more ‘when I have time’ and ‘when I’m not doing 500 other things’. Tonight might be that way – after work and the office holiday party/Secret Santa, I’m meeting up with a friend for a gift exchange. I’d like to do laundry and 2 videos, but the realistic view of getting ALL that done is…I’ll probably do 1 video and end up doing my laundry sometime this weekend. Sigh.

I did weigh myself this morning, and I haven’t lost any weight. Completely unsurprising, considering I’ve just begun. But, that’s not why I’m doing this. I’m doing this for happiness, inner peace, mindfulness, and confidence.

If you join me, what are your reasons?

  2. Similiar reasons but especially this inner peace within and feeling fine being the person you are. The meditation and breathing after doing yoga feels just great and makes oneself feel grateful. 🙂

    Thank you for sharing. 😀
